Faith to Build, Space to Belong

We are a beautiful community of men and women, young and old, single and married, from over 30 countries worldwide who found faith in Jesus and are discovering, together, how to be a blessing to our city that others might become disciples.  While our church facilities are located in the north end of Saint John, the people of our church are spread throughout the region extending the reach and impact of our ministries.

Good Problems

It is with grateful hearts that we continue to welcome new people into our church family.  As we do, we are welcoming them into a foyer and parking lot that are full to overflowing. We are welcoming infants, preschoolers and youth into spaces that are not big enough or appropriate for the kind of ministry we want to provide.  We welcome new staff, but do not have offices for them to work in.  We extend hospitality without adequate kitchen facilities.   These are good problems to have.

Phase 2

When we constructed our current facility on Forbes Drive, we knew it would require three phases.  Phase 1 is our existing facility, Phase 2 will add new and expanded foyer and ministry space, and phase 3 will be a final worship space that allows our current worship space to be used for larger gatherings.

We've been busy

In 2018 a small group of committed volunteers started working on plans for Phase 2, which were halted with the pandemic.  We reconstituted a Phase 2 team in 2024 made up of Bill London, Bob Shaw, Heather Hamilton, Kevin Shyf, Anu Gupta, and Kevin Simpson.  They reevaluated our needs and hired Lindsay Construction, Fundy Engineering and Acre Architects to design and construct an addition to our current facility, known as Phase 2.

The Part You Play

The project is an estimated $5.5M and we hope to raise 3M in pledges and borrow the additional 2.5M. Ministering to more people will require more leaders and volunteers, and more members of our church family to gladly own and embody the vision.  It will require faithful prayer and faithful partners to give financially to our capital campaign. Part of your role in this story will be to prayerfully determine what God has given you to give. We all have a part, and we are eager to watch the Lord prove Himself faithful again.  Phase 2 will require Faith to Build so we can continue to provide Space to Belong as people become part of our beautiful community.

Will you join our Faith to Build, Space to Belong, Campaign

Our congregation has a long history of financial generosity, and we depend on your generosity to resource our ongoing ministry each year.  We are asking you to give in addition to your regular tithes and offerings toward this campaign.  We will be asking each of you to consider an above and beyond gift amount that you will contribute between the fall of 2025 and December 2027.  We will be asking you to let us know what amount you believe you can give over that time frame towards this campaign, so we can make an informed decision about how best to move forward with our Phase 2 construction plans.  This next step of our vision is ambitious. We understand the trust and sacrifice that this kind of commitment requires, but we are confident that God, in His goodness, will meet all of our needs and align our hearts more closely with His as we share the gifts He has entrusted to us.

How Do I Get Involved

Why are you asking for pledges

We want to make wise choices with the funds you commit. The project is an estimated $5.5M and we hope to raise $3M in pledges, use the $800,000 we have in savings and borrow the additional funds. Your pledges help us make prudent decisions about how to move forward and when to move forward. We will not over extend ourselves on a construction project that jeopardizes our ongoing ministries.

This chart illustrates how a church our size can raise the necessary funds, not by equal gifts, but my equal sacrifice. It will require everyone to do their part.
