help Support refugee familes in our community

We will provide support to recently arrived refugee families currently living in temporary accommodations in the city while awaiting permanent housing. Through YMCA Newcomer Connections, many families will enjoy a Christmas party. Also, in response to family requests, we will help prepare their children (approximately 50) for school by providing school supplies and sneakers. Keep reading to learn how YOU can be involved!

  • Donate basic School supplies for refugee families

Help us collect basic school supplies to help prepare the children for school. There are boxes in the church lobby to collect your donations.  Thank you for having your donations to the church by December 10.

    Items needed (new only please):

Packs of Pencils, Packs of Pens, White Erasers, Rulers, Notebooks, Looseleaf, Crayola Markers, and Colored Pencils

  • Buy a pair of New sneakers for a refugee child

Help us provide new pairs of sneakers for each child!  A display in the church lobby lists what sizes and genders we require. Please choose one of the options, sign your name on the board, and take the shoe tag with you as you shop for the new pair! Bring the new sneakers, along with the shoe tag attached, back to the church by December 10th.

  • donate to ‘christmas outreach ministries’

Thank you so much for donating to Christmas Outreach Ministries. Through your donations, we will provide help with Christmas food for many families. Please use specially prepared envelopes in seat pockets or designate your donation as “Christmas Outreach Ministries”.

Our registration for Christmas Exchange has ended for this season. For other registration sites, please contact the main Christmas Exchange office at 506-634-7876.
